Despite improvements in medical treatment and prevention, heart failure (HF) remains a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide [1]. Currently, HF with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) has become the most prevalent form of HF in elderly patients [2,3]. The cardinal features in HF, aside from left ventricular systolic function, are exertional dyspnea and reduced aerobic capacity.
